Early Learning classes aim to provide the best education and foundation for our little ones to help them build sustainable futures both from an academic and holistic point of view. We aim to arm our little learners with the skills and attributes that will help them to approach life with inner strength, focus and resilience, so they can reach their full potential.

Grade RRR, RR and Grade R classes are delivered by our dedicated and passionate ECD Practitioners at the ECD Centres who receive weekly coaching sessions by our ECD Team to ensure that the level of education being transferred to our children is up to par with the recommended standards and that these Practitioners are emotionally equipped to nurture strong hearts and minds.

Each year over 1000 children are educated through these classes

Grade R classes were launched in 2007, followed by Grade RR in 2012. In 2026, Ekukhanyeni introduced Grade RRR to create greater learning consistency from an earlier age.

Today, Grade RRR, Grade RR and Grade R classes are offered through our partnered ECD centres, supported by trained practitioners, structured learning activities and ongoing classroom guidance.

Each year, around 1,000 children are educated through these classes, gaining access to quality early learning in communities where formal early childhood education has historically been limited.

Our Early Learning programme focuses on school readiness, language development, early numeracy, social-emotional growth and confidence, helping children build the foundations they need for Grade 1 and beyond.

Educators and caregivers are supported through regular coaching, mentoring and practical classroom guidance from Ekukhanyeni’s ECD team.

The classes run from January to December and follow government school terms, helping children experience a structured and consistent learning rhythm throughout the year.
