Ekukhanyeni's
model programmes are operational in the informal settlements
of Lawley and Finetown in the city ofJohannesburg's Region
G in the Gauteng Province. Region G borders on greater Johannesburg’s
extreme southern boundary and has no economic base of its
own. Geographically displaced from the rest of greater Johannesburg,
it is largely a marginalised dormitory residential area and
is blighted by extreme poverty and underdevelopment.
